Bowfishing like you've never seen before from LiveHunt.com and Google video. Looks like a lot of fun!

I think that's the same video I saw on Youtube before. If I remember correctly, it is a species of carp that's not native to the Illinois or Indiana river systems where they are now found. They are a nuisance, and people go out on a particular day, and try to eradicate as many as possible. Like a holiday.

Why go fishing when you can save gas and pick them up off the beach?? Where's my gig??

Silver carp... One of those fun invasive speciea... I was watching something on National Geographic channel where they have a tournament for them. The people drive around and net them as they jump and whoever has the most poundage wins... One guy had an aluminum bat and was taking batting practice with them... They fly pretty far... They breed ridiculously fast and eat all of the resident algae in the rivers from what they said....

Now that's extreme fishball.. You don't even know where the pitch is gonna come from. Now that's the kind of fish we need to hold tourneys on. Obviously, there's not a bag limit on those guys. They need a lot of fishing pressure. Why not let people drag nets and sell the fish to be ground up into fish meal. Hmm....You heard it here first. I only ask for 5%. That's half of what god wants, and about 16% of what the government wants.

Exactly. They were basically of the mindset of doing whatever the heck they can to get rid of them. Some of the fish were nice sized as well... Somebody, somewhere has to eat the darn things... It's like this one spot I go kayaking in where the shrimp get so thick they literally jump in the kayak... But who am I to complain about free bait?

Har! I can just seeing myself swatting fish with a bat and throwing my back out again! That does sound like fun though. Actually though, carp are pretty good at helping to keep retention ponds around here.
